Description:
• The Vice President leads the Centre of Excellence focused on strategic sourcing, supplier relationship development, contract management and compliance for the network technology category which includes all network equipment including access, core routing/switching, transport and services.
• This role reports to the Senior Vice President, Network Transformation and dotted line reports to the Chief Procurement Officer.
Key Objectives/Responsibilities:
• Provide input to the Senior Vice President in setting enterprise-wide procurement strategies and performance objectives for network technology.
• Collaborate closely with Procurement and Supply Chain Management centres in other business units to ensure sharing of best practices and maximizing complete TELUS leverage in sourcing arrangements.
• Provide leadership to category or relationship management teams; ensures best practices are used across the teams.
• Provide team culture leadership to advance the overall strategic vendor management capabilities by supporting a collaborative operating model, including the sharing of knowledge and best practices.
• Maintain key relationships with cross-functional groups and manage business unit stakeholders.
• Deliver results from strategic sourcing and drive cost reduction initiatives and value creation across the supplier base.
• Develop and implement supplier relationship management approaches.
• Leverage technology and leading practice to drive business process efficiencies.
• Develop strategies and customized solutions for complex strategic partnership agreements.
• Guide, coach, and develop a large, diverse highly skilled workforce.
• Implement the tracking of appropriate objectives and measures to substantiate cost savings and demonstrate process efficiencies.
• Focus on continuous improvement and fair process.
• Create and maintain a high performance culture utilizing TELUS best practices which include clear personal performance objectives and customized career development plans.
Qualifications:
Required Experience:
• 10+ years progressive work experience in a senior management capacity.
• Experience within the telecommunications industry is advantageous.
• Extensive experience within the procurement industry including strategic sourcing of network equipment, telecoms services.
• A strong relationship builder with a proven track record of establishing and maintaining effective internal and external client relationships.
• Ability to work effectively and make quick decisions in an environment with shifting demands and rapid change.
• Sound business acumen with the ability to quickly and thoroughly understand business priorities and operations.
• An exceptional people manager with well honed leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to attract, retain and develop internal talent.
• Demonstrated experience in leading across functional groups and geographic locations.
• An effective and experienced communicator.
