Modular Planner - Food & Consumables

Description:

• This individual is fully accountable for the Modular build process from initial planning through to store execution – working independently or with a Planning Assistant, the Planner is responsible for the production and maintenance of accurate, customer focused, operationally efficient modulars (planograms) that inspire customers, maximizing sales while reducing costs.
• The Planner will work with the Merchandising Teams to develop and promote the business though analytical and strategic support while applying inventory rules focused on improving on-shelf availability and days on hand through impactful modulars.


Position Responsibilities:

• Fully accountable for the Modular build process from initial planning through to store execution working cross functionally to ensure all critical milestones and KPI’s are met and strategy is delivered.
• Ensure all modulars are logical and impactful in order to enhance the customer shopping experience using KPI’s to aid in the decision making process.
• Facilitate the design and set-up of new and remodeled stores, and the placement of merchandise throughout the chain.
• Provide Merchandising Group with department relay schedules and ensure modulars are released and executed on time.
• Provide Merchandising Group with Modular analysis and recommendations on most productive use of space, monitor sales and inventory levels, in order to maximize sales and profit.
• Perform creative and analytical research based on on-going review of existing Modulars in order to improve current procedures and processes.
• Track and report Modular compliance and proactively work with cross functional teams to ensure all KPI’s are achieved.
• Liaise with Operations, Merchandising, Store Layout, Layout Room, Replenishment and Store Setup to ensure the integrity of the Modular Process and find sustainable solutions to obstacles ensuring successful implementation of Modulars in Stores.
• Understand the strategic role of each store format in order to maximize performance via modulars.
• Supervise, evaluate and train Modular Planning Assistant(s) on an on-going basis.


Qualifications:

• Post Secondary Education and / or 3-5 years experience in retail merchandising role.
• Experience in Food Retail, especially in Fresh departments.
• Knowledge and experience with planograms or working with Modulars an advantage.
• Working knowledge of space planning software (JDA Space Planning, and Profloor.
• Proficient computer skills - Advanced level Excel and intermediate Powerpoint.
• Strong people management skills.
