Description:

• The Manufacturing, Retail & Distribution business unit of CGI’s Systems Integration and Consulting practice, located in Markham, Ontario, is responsible for providing professional and pragmatic consulting services to our global Retail clients by crafting optimized business and technical solutions to solve their most complex problems.
• Reporting to the Sector Vice President, Consulting Services of the Systems Integration and Consulting practice and working on a team of between 8-10, you will be primarily responsible for providing professional and effective consulting services to client organizations while assisting with providing the leadership to continue to grow CGI’s retail capability and market share.
• We are seeking an individual who can assist with leading the development and leadership of CGI's Retail consulting capability in order to bring to bear the appropriate overall practice capabilities within CGI to solution and deliver on.
• The objective of the role is to first provide a comprehensive overview of the Retail marketplace and provide guidance on where to focus CGI's capabilities within that market, identify and cultivate relationships in order to qualify and develop opportunities.
• The secondary objective is to create complex business process and technology architectures that solve multifaceted, critical Retail business challenges such as Store Systems, ERP, Supply Chain Optimization, as well as support organizational priorities for our Retail clients.
• We are seeking an individual who can apply a range of management consulting methods and techniques in the fulfillment of this position, along with expertise in industry specific solution strategies and best practices.


The overall functions of this role consist of:

• Act as business partner in identifying client needs and developing business process and technology solutions that solve critical issues and support organizational priorities.
• Build strong relationships with clients at the “C-Level” in order to better understand and proactively respond to their needs, promote CGI’s services and help clients meet their strategic and tactical goals.
• Act as outside agent of change for our clients in order to improve services and productivity on an ongoing basis.
• Advisor on leading business practices in the Retail industry. Expanding and sharing your knowledge of the Canadian and global Retail business and its sectors of activity.
• Leading the development of business architectures and driving out business requirements at all levels to facilitate new opportunities with clients.
• Provide sales support to account business development teams.
• Assist account teams in building account strategies for Retail accounts.
• Identify solution providers with industry leading solutions for potential.
• Apply a range of management consulting methods and techniques, leveraging your expertise in Retail industry-specific solution strategies and best practices.


From a Client-Focused perspective:

• Developing a blueprint of the retail customer enterprise that provides a common understanding of the organization and use to align strategic objectives and tactical demands to increase organizational effectiveness.
• Establish credibility and trust across key decision makers and influencers at the client level.
• Meet or exceed revenue targets.
• Be recognized as the Retail industry expert through a clear understanding of industry best-practices, and how CGI’s solutions support and accelerate the achievement of our Retail client’s business goals.
• Oversee solution design to ensure commitment to deliverables while driving innovation and fostering collaboration between technical teams.
• Assess and respond to gaps between current projects, customer needs as well as industry trends/competitive offerings.


From an Internally-Focused perspective:

• Identify new service offerings and partner with Delivery to develop the required strategies to drive the growth of the Retail Practice.
• Partner with the Manufacturing, Retail and Distribution Delivery and Business Development teams to institute positive changes resulting in improved sales opportunities and account penetration.
• Provide continuous and consistent communication to key CGI stakeholders (e.g. Sales, Delivery and Senior Management) regarding client status, commitments, and needs.
• Establish a strong collaborative relationship with supporting functional organizations within CGI.


Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Recognized Retail Technology Leader with minimum 10 years progressive experience.
• Quantifiable experience in identifying, evaluating and implementing business architecture solutions in the Retail arena.
• University degree within an Information Systems discipline such as Information Systems Management, Computer Science or Business Administration.
• Demonstrated above-average interpersonal skills, very strong presentation and communication skills.
• Proven leadership skills within a highly matrixed organization.
• Ability to apply standard financial planning and budget control principles to projects/engagements.
• Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset, but is not essential.

• Be able to identify areas where mentoring and leading by example will help develop the leadership under him/her.
• As well, he/she must possess entrepreneurship, innovation, thought leadership, communication, building consensus, influencing.
