Project Procurement Manager

Description:

The Project Procurement Manager will have overall responsibility for the management of the procurement function on large domestic and international projects (CAD$ billions+) encompassing purchasing, contracts and materials controls activities.


Key Responsibilities Include:

• Resolving highly complex problems involving high risk or high monetary cost to client.
• Make decisions and formulate recommendations on highly technical and complex issues.
• Consult with clients.
• Develop procedures and systems and implement corporate policies.
• Negotiate major purchasing contracts.
• Review and approve solicitation and analysis of bids and formal purchasing arrangements on all major purchases.
• Meet frequently with suppliers and clients to resolve issues.
• Administer project procurement budgets.
• Ensure understanding and adherence to company IMS which gives the company’s commitment to continuous improvement.


Key Skills and Qualifications Include:

• Post secondary degree or combination of education and experience.
• 15+ years related experience in material procurement and supply chain management with 10 years experience in procurement management.
• CPP certification (or related professional designation).
• Background in an EPC or Project environment.
• Supervisory experience and proven leadership skills.
• Demonstrated ability in Vendor Management Practices.
• Proficiency in MS Office software.
• Knowledge of procurement related software.
• Strong interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal), and organizational skills.
• Results oriented individual with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and timelines.
