Team Leader, Wrapping

Description:

As a Team Leader you will support the wrapping production department in product packaging according to quality standards in a safe, efficient and timely manner through maximum utilization of people and machinery to meet production schedules as well as providing strategic focus for the wrapping team and coordination with the Companies Leadership Team.


Key Accountabilities Includes:

• Ensure all Food Safety requirements are effectively performed.
• The task involved includes training of staff on Food Safety & Hazard Analysis, Critical Control Points (HACCP), monitoring is in effect, and continuous improvement of the process with any changes to our working environment.
• Coaches wrapping associates in the achievement of their department's goals and objectives, providing strategic focus on Wrapping opportunities and improvements.
• Maintains Wrapping team leadership focus on packaged product quality, safety, cost, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), productivity, and general housekeeping expectations, and Autonomous Maintenance.
• Facilitates Wrapping associates in the analysis of operating results, Quality and Safety, forecast variance, cost control efforts and the development of Action Plans to address identified deficiencies.
• Champions team building among all wrapping operations, and provides performance coaching to ensure the development of high performance team members.
• Participates as a key Leadership Team member in providing ongoing strategic planning, organizational development, and sustained focus on the mission of the Toronto Factory operations.
• Coordinates directly with the Wrapping Manager in establishing and monitoring the department Operating Budget, along with Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), goals and objectives.
• Coordinate the multiple Wrapping operations with Maintenance and Engineering capital project development and implementation, packaging material trials, and new product introductions and up-scales.
• Provides the key Wrapping coordination and support link between all other Supply Chain functions and their Wrapping oriented activities.


Qualifications:

• You display a strong sense of urgency, are decisive and results focused.
• You have demonstrated abilities in the areas of problem solving, planning and administration as well as the achievement of organizational safety, quality and productivity objectives.
• Proficiency with automated process/packaging technology; quality control methodologies and health/safety program compliance are essential requirements.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools, the ability to train and SAP experience are definite assets.
• Potential candidates with a Degree in the area of Engineering, Operations Management or Food Sciences is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years experience in a Food manufacturing setting, in a leadership role is also required.
